Scratch Resistant Coating
Scratched lenses will impede visual clarity and cause eye strain and ultimately eye fatigue: this is why a scratch-resistant coating is a “must-have”when it comes to protecting your eyewear. Most lenses are made of a soft, plastic material that can be easily scratched. This coating is clear, and will cover your lenses on both the front and back surfaces, and protect them from everyday pitfalls such as dropping your glasses on the floor, or from cleaning them with a fibrous cloth. But remember, scratch resistant does not mean they are scratch-proof!
Also called AR coating or anti-glare coating. It is a special coating that is applied to the surface of lenses and will improve the comfort level of your vision by reducing light reflections from both the front and back surfaces of your eyeglass lenses. More good light will be able to transmit through your lenses and help to reduce glare from oncoming headlights, and make it easier to see hard –to-see details in dim light, such as being able to see someone more easily crossing the street on unlit or poorly lit roads. AR coating also helps to reduce the eyestrain we experience from the strong LED lights emitted from our cell phones, tablets and computer monitors.
